WE Are STILL HEALING AND THAT IS OKAY
SOS(S):
A distress signal of urgent need requiring help and hope when you or a loved one is suffering from the effects of a substance use disorder.

“To seek relief from pain is a human experience; whether it is emotional, physical or mental pain, finding relief is not unusual or abnormal behavior. People use substances for a reason. A compassionate society should promote evidence-based principles of care, harm reduction programs and support all paths to recovery in order to increase better outcomes for people in treatment and recovery.”

About The Founder
Stamp Out Shame & Secrecy for Substance Use Disorder
In her outreach campaign that began in 2009, www.SOSSforSUD.com, was formed. Diana began working in advocacy for families, specifically those who struggle with a loved one challenged with substance use or misuse. She also worked with parents who lost a child to a substance related cause.
Since that time, she has been devoted to creating opportunities for families to share their stories in order to effect change. She still feels strongly that healing hearts is possible by changing the face of addiction in society. The lives of our loved one matters, and they should not be minimized in their challenges with their mental health and quest for wellness !
She has been involved with several groups, over many years, advocating for important policy changes to help those who seek treatment for a substance use disorder, and for the families to help them maintain connections with a loved one sho suffers with such challenges. Additionally, the mission of these organizations has been to use lived experiences to broaden educational efforts, solicit funding that supports equal protections, provides harm reduction measures and evidence-informed treatment and services for all people who need them.
Within her local community, she offers family recovery services available through group workshops, focused on the Invitation to Change approach, with tools and resources for communication strategies that can help those we love. In collaboration with local organizations, the need for family services has evolved, and a studied approach can be utilized to support and educate the public on:
- Prevention
- Principles of Care
- Virtual Options for Meetings & Support
- Harm Reduction Resources, and
- Family Centered Treatment & Recovery Services
CREATING SPACE private coaching & family workshop series has grown out of her passion to provide invaluable information, support and tools to parents, and concerns significant others (CSO), while also providing one-on-one connections with someone who is traveling a path that is very familiar to her.
